Eurothermes resorts offer great and affordable vacation
In addition to the world famous Vichy and Biaritsa, in France there are many other worthy medical resorts. They are not much inferior to the promoted European health resorts. But they offer cheaper holidays, at least 30-40% cheaper than, for example, in Karlovy Vary. We are talking about resorts within the Eurothermes group.
The Eurothermes Association was established in 1974. Guy Ebrar, a dermatologist and specialist in hydrotherapy, is considered its founder. Twenty-seven years ago, he decided to combine into one group medical resorts located in five regions of France: Languedoc-Roussillon, Poitou-Charente, Auvergne, Rhone-Alpes and Midi-Pyrenees. These areas are very rich in thermal springs, which have long been famous for numerous healing properties. Local waters spurting from the ground are saturated with various mineral elements.
These places are almost unknown to Russian tourists. Even individuals rarely include these areas of France in their itinerary. And in vain. They deserve the closest attention. If only because these regions are not like either the Cote d’Azur or Paris, where the majority of Russians go. Many French call these places “another France.”
Ax-le-Term is 30 km from Andorra. Almost at the foot of the Pyrenees. Therefore, a wonderful view of the mountain peaks opens from everywhere. Baner de Bigorr is somewhat remote from the mountains, but invariably attracts those who love green hilly landscapes. Almost next door is the resort of Capvern-les-Bains. This is truly a fabulous place. In numerous beech and chestnut groves, small villages are “lost”. Driving along their narrow streets, you can never meet anyone. Very quiet, secluded and amazingly calm. It feels like time has stopped here. This is a real paradise for a modern person tired of the frantic rhythm of life.
The Châtel-Guillon resort is located in the Central Massif area, 20 km from the city of Clermont-Ferrand and almost in the vicinity of the famous Vichy. Tourists coming here discover the region of Auvergne – the land of large spaces. Tourists see the plains. Silaos la Reunyun is already the tropics. The resort is located on the island of De La Reunion, which was “born” of the volcano. It is located in the Indian Ocean, between Madagascar and Maurice. Reunion is the real gem of the Indian Ocean. Digne-les-Bains is located between Marseille and Nice, and Rochefort-sur-Mer is on the Atlantic coast. Each region is unique in its own way.
The French are very fond of these places. And it is they who mainly rest in these medical resorts. There are very few other Europeans, and Russians are very rare guests. So this is an ideal place for those who want to relax not only from hard work, but also from compatriots. At the same time, the audience that comes to Eurothermes resorts is very different, for example, from the capital. As a rule, these are residents of the provinces where resorts are located. Simple, open people. They are absolutely not inherent in snobbery and arrogance, which sometimes annoy foreigners in Parisians. Therefore, communication with other vacationers here promises to be the most enjoyable.
Eurothermes resorts are attractive primarily for those who like peace and privacy. Here you should not count on the noisy social life, which is possible in Karlovy Vary or in Baden-Baden. But this does not mean that the resorts Eurothermes bored. Here is everything that a person needs on vacation.
As for sports entertainment, then they do not have to go far. In the territories of hotels and health centers, swimming pools, tennis courts, golf courses, etc. were built. In Ax-le-Terme, plus everything possible fishing and mountaineering. Vacationers in the Châtel-Guyon are not averse to flying in a balloon and on a glider or, having descended to the ground, wander along winding hiking trails. Capvern-les-Bains provides its guests with the opportunity to do speleology.
Cultural leisure is also possible. Moreover – the most diverse: discos, clubs, museums, libraries, small exhibition centers. In some towns adjacent to the resorts, cinemas are open. Each resort is also able to offer vacationers interesting excursion programs. Not far from Aix-le-Terme are medieval castles, grottoes and places of major archaeological excavations. In the area of the resort of Baner de Bigorr, in the Pyrenees, there is a national natural park with numerous lakes, rivers and grottoes. It offers beautiful views of the Midi de Bigorr peak. The excursion program at these places also includes a visit to the medieval castle of Movesan and the Abbey of Escaladier.
From Capvern-les-Bains, tourists usually go on excursions through the valleys and gorges of the High Pyrenees, visit Gavarni (circus on ice) and, of course, the Desparro abyss – one of the most ambitious in Europe. The main attraction of the Châtel-Guillon area is the Volcano Park, where the most courageous tourists are delivered by balloon.
